Pendex - Lollipop Dental Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics

A Pendex appliance is a fixed orthodontic device used to expand the jaw, correct crossbites, and push molar teeth back to create space. It does this by using an expansion device and springs to allow correction of the upper jaw and beautiful alignment of the teeth.

What to Expect During Treatment:

● Excessive drooling for 2-3 days is normal.
● Speech alterations are normal until your child is use to the appliance.
● Avoid chewing any sticky or crunchy foods ( i.e starbursts, skittles, gum, jolly ranchers, peanuts, ice, etc).
● If the appliance becomes loose for any reason, please bring your child in as soon as possible. ● Avoid carbonated beverages (sprite, sodas) to avoid dissolving the cement.
● Some soreness for the first few days is normal. You may give your child Children’s Tylenol or Children Motrin as needed.
