Lollipop Pediatric Dentistry, a vibrant and welcoming practice in Long Beach, CA, is looking for an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team. We specialize in pediatric dental care, creating a fun and comfortable environment for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Set up and breakdown operatory post-treatment.
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays).
- Manage infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
- Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
- Take impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
- Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
- X-ray certification.
- Previous experience in a pediatric dental practice preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for working with children.
- CPR certification.
